When Time turns into Space Seconds become ditches of snakes Minutes become mountains to climb Hours are Towers of Babel. And ages suddenly are cages Where Lions of Eternity roar And you and I have turned into statues Forever imprisoned in a marble arch. But if I ask the Moon All I hear is: “Life is the answer”. When Space turns into Time Cornfields become nights Headlands and bays Become endless days. And roads full of bends Become Winters of our discontent And this city where we were both born Is the Dawn of our glorious Summers long gone. But if I ask the Moon All I hear is: “Life is the answer”. And if I ask the Sun All I hear is: “Life is the answer”.

Family 02:35
Brothers, sisters Family is a mystery. Where do you come from? Where do you go? Do you know the meaning of home? An ethereal retreat Sacred to the memory Of our previous life A miracle, a game, Do you feel the same? A field of gold, a story untold, Peace and quiet. A path in the wood, A cure against solitude, Sunbeams, green lights, Blue skies and diamond rings Do you feel the same? Peace and quiet A field of gold, a story untold. This is home. This is home!

GOD’S ANSWER MACHINE "Hello everybody, this is God's answer machine. As you can see He is not at home. So please leave a message at the sound of the tone. Leave your name and number If you want to be called back." Beep. "Hi, it's John here. My wife died last year, Her name is Johanna, You must know her. She's always been pure And I'm sure she's at your side. So, please, could you tell her I still miss her?" Beep. "Hello everybody, this is God's answer machine. As you can see He is not at home. So please leave a message at the sound of the tone. Leave your name and number If you want to be called back." Beep. "Bonjour Dieu, je vais mourir J'ai été bonne et la mort me désire. Je souffre beaucoup mais ce que me fait le plus mal C'est de savoir que tu n'existes pas. Car si tu existais, tu n'aurais pas besoin Du téléphone pur savoir que le monde Souffre beaucoup et la Terre se désespère Et pleure toujours." Beep. "Hello everybody, this is God's answer machine. As you can see He is not at home. So please leave a message at the sound of the tone. Leave your name and number If you want to be called back." Beep. "Hello God, my name is Maureen I am sixteen and I need a proof. My email address is "maureen16@yahoo.com" So send me an email If you exist..." Beep. "Hello everybody, this is God's answer machine. As you can see He is not at home. So please leave a message at the sound of the tone. Leave your name and number If you want to be called back." Beep. "Salve Dio, questo è un addio... Perché anche se credi Che il mondo viva tutto ai tuoi piedi C'è chi come me Vive e vuol vivere senza di te." Beep. "Hello everybody, this is God's answer machine. As you can see He is not at home. So please leave a message at the sound of the tone. Leave your name and number If you want to be called back." Beep. "Hi God! You know what? Music is my God!" Beep.

Once upon a time I met a man sentenced to Death For loving Life and Mankind And telling stories of how Peace Ended all Wars, Of how Hope opened all doors To the Kingdom of Freedom and Joy. He said: “My friend, don’t be sad! Don’t let tears become years. Don’t let Hate become Fate.” “You look like you have many more miles to go Before you get home So, smile!” He said: “Don’t be sad, my friend! Don’t let tears become years. Don’t let Fate become Hate. Don’t let haste become waste Don’t let Fate become Hate Don’t let Life become a knife…” Sometimes, at night, It gets harder for us to believe That we don’t live in vain That we don’t hear only chimes of Pain.

I’m tired, I am tired, I am tired…! I’m tired of all this My soul is like a big black hole. People talking on the cell phone Just to say: “In five minutes I get home.” Politicians disguised as Mickey Mouse, The specialty of the House. Do you ever feel the same? Sometimes I’d like to switch the Moon off, Kick the stars away. Jesus said: “Going to the Cross is not crucial to me”. But he went anyway and died. Do you ever feel the same? Sometimes I like to switch the Moon off, Kick the stars away. Jesus said: “Going to the Cross is not crucial to me”. Sometimes I'd like to switch the Sun off, Kick the clouds away. Jesus said: “Going to the Cross is not crucial to me”. But he went anyway and died.

Long hot Summer days, Nights in shorts. Shooting at the shooting stars. Jupiter and Mars. Don’t ask me why, I might be stupid and reply. Don’t ask me why. Time t-shirts Out to dry Walking barefoot, Turning blind At the sight of that smile The smile of smiles, The eyes of eyes, The face of faces. Don’t ask me why, I might be stupid and reply. Don’t ask me why.

Slowly Quick 03:36
Night is falling It’s dark in my heart. Snow is melting White tears from my eyes. I’m not good at goodbyes. Hypnotized by the Moon, It’s happening too soon. Stars look like a bright scar Across the sky A lake of sorrow At my feet. I’m not good at goodbyes. Mesmerized by a flick of the wrist It’s happening too quick.

KPushkin 04:34
Isn’t it funny? When we first met We waved goodbye to one another. Our lives went on as nothing had happened But if I close my eyes Sometimes I hear the Russian bells, And in my heart the words I understand though I won’t repeat I find.
9.
Mystic Summers of long ago, Sweated to the marrow bone. Future days in the past of stone, When did you forget you were a Flower? Wearing your corolla As if it were a golden crown. Whispering something like: “Santa Claus won’t be back to town, this year.” Present has yet no power Upon thy beauty. On the platform I’m still alone, my pain is late, my Fate is on the next train. Cold cold Winters of long ago, Dancing with snow. Frozen moments like books of dreams, When did you forget you lived on sunbeams? When did you forget you were a flower?
10.
11.
We were smiling, Having fun, Enjoying another ordinary day Sitting in the shade Of Blue Skies. Then, we started Falling one by one We were drowning In pools of blood. I tried slowly to raise my hand To ask why Life has been so cruel.
12.
I Want To Be 03:26
When people ask me: “What do you want to do in your life?” I answer: “I want to be a thief, Steal everybody’s grief So that for them all Every day May become Synonymous with Joy. When people ask me: “What do you want to do in your life?” I answer: “I want to be an alchemist, So I can turn tears into Gold And I can turn Pain into Rain, I can turn a sad gaze into a maze of Life.” When people ask me: “What do you want to do in your life?” I answer: “I want to be a song To spread my wings and fly To the ones who cry on their own To dry their eyes And make them sing together.”
13.
He confessed: “Life is a mess You can shoot me in the head, I don’t care. Leave me unburied Burn me, Throw my ashes into the Fire, To the Winds that change I will be the same.” The ceremony was over The priest in his black cloak Standing like Summer mist Upon the white cliffs of Dover. Agony disguised as a Smile A heart-shaped tattoo The wrong symbol On your right wrist Water converted into ice Existence seen through Borrowed eyes. Disillusion for breakfast The wizard approached But too late For the Curse was cast Some time in the future You will prick your finger On the spindle of a spinning wheel A World War will start The worst of Friends The best of Enemies We will be, We will be. We will be.
14.
Then your face amazed me When I saw it was livid and pale. I knew for sure you were dying A shade of sadness appeared in my eyes. And then in my veins I felt only trembling blood. They say it ain’t good to have trembling blood. In a thickening of fear I thought even the book could hear. But my words and my tears ran alone in my home. And in my veins I felt only trembling blood. And I had no strength to pray to God, I felt only my trembling blood. In the mirror I saw my face, staring at me with a curious gaze. And I knew for sure my life were to be too long. I felt sick, and I asked for a Providence’s kick And then in my veins I felt only trembling blood. You were dead and I was living with my trembling blood. You were dead and I was to live forever with my trembling blood.
15.
What’s lost is lost, Ghosts are ghosts. Hosts are hosts, Guests are guests. Don’t cry, please, don’t cry! I whisper to the wind. And your memories Like snowflakes falling upon The fields of Life: The answer to my doubts, Certainty against my cheek. What’s lost is lost, Ghosts are ghosts. Hosts are hosts, Guests are guests.

about

<< "Herald Of The Morn". Nomen omen, I daresay.

This 15-track album was self-released in July 2007 and represents the first step I took in the World of indie music as an "internet geek" musical project (even if eventually I went "live" and learnt how to cope with real stages).
Anyway, if it weren't for this album I would have never written and recorded so many songs. I sort of forced myself to self-produce it because I needed to feel that music was a reality for me and not only a state of mind.

I recorded all the songs on my own, learning how to set up an audio interface, launch a musical software, deal with all the mysterious tricks of an entire new universe that until then I had never explored. Then went to a friend's studio to learn how to mix and there I learnt everything I now know about mixing, sound frequency and so on. My friend, a.k.a. the Lone Wolf, definitely introduced me to the world of crazy mixing.

The quality of "Herald Of The Morn" is radio-friendly but I like to think of it rather as a "bootleg" than something "official", for it conveys some sort of roughness that currently even indie releases lack.
This doesn’t mean that your ears ache while listening to this album. It just means that the songs are purposedly not perfect. Huh. Perfection. What is it?!

For example, I recorded all the tracks with no metronome, just like back in the ‘60’s. And there’s a lot of improvising going on, even if the song structure is well-defined. >>
